Destiny 2 Unfinished Business: What Needs to Be Addressed in Year 5

Destiny 2 is entering its fifth year of content, and with it comes a lot of unfinished business. There are a number of things that Bungie needs to address in order to make the game the best it can be.

Here are a few of the most pressing issues:

  • The story needs to be more engaging. Destiny 2’s story has been a bit of a roller coaster over the years. Some expansions, like Forsaken, have had great stories, while others, like Shadowkeep, have been more underwhelming. Bungie needs to find a way to make the story more engaging and compelling, and to give players a reason to care about what’s happening.
  • The loot system needs to be improved. Destiny 2’s loot system has been a source of frustration for players since the game launched. There are too many useless items in the loot pool, and it’s often difficult to get the gear you actually want. Bungie needs to streamline the loot system and make it easier for players to get the gear they need to be successful.
  • The endgame needs to be more rewarding. Destiny 2’s endgame is currently lacking in rewards. There’s not much incentive for players to keep playing after they’ve completed the campaign and the weekly activities. Bungie needs to add more challenging endgame content with better rewards, in order to keep players engaged.
  • The Crucible needs to be balanced. Destiny 2’s Crucible has been plagued by balance issues for years. There are always a few weapons and subclasses that are overpowered, while others are underpowered. Bungie needs to do a better job of balancing the Crucible, in order to create a more level playing field for all players.

These are just a few of the unfinished business that Bungie needs to address in Destiny 2 Year 5. If Bungie can address these issues, then the game will be in a much better place.
